Sight Lines Publication
This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition Sight Lines, curated by Hurst Contemporary in 2025.
Presented at the gallery on Percy Street, both exhibition and publication bring together, for the first time, Catherine Long, Dido Hallett, Georgina Stone and Hester Finch. Sight Lines documents a formative period in their respective creative journeys, when the four shared a studio at the heart of Camberwell.
The title evokes the act of looking (first within their own spaces and toward one another’s work), alluding to the quiet exchanges and mutual influences nurtured in the shared studio. Through a series of interviews, the book offers intimate insights into their approaches to painting, exploring how dialogue, friendship and trust shape each other’s practice.
Accompanied by original photography by Sarah Larby, the publication illuminates their process, from the physical act of painting to the materials and tools that give articulate their ideas.
